The Fashionistas are a band in Brooklyn, NY who formed in Rochester, NY around 2004, in the basement of the legendary Kingsboro house - a part-time party venue that hosted bands like Que Pasa, Gak Attack!, Monkey space station, and Caboose At Last. The band started when drummer, Matt Nicole, began playing music with bassist, Peter Mulroy, when both of Nicole's legs were broken and in full casts. Eventually the duo, then called Calamari, put up flyers looking for a third bandmate. Tom Starkweather (guitar/vocals) responded.
