Balkan-folk cockney's you say? This original amalgamation of Eastern European alt-folk and gypsy-jig jazz driven by a distinctly London wisp sets an oddly eclectic scene. There’s a fertile seam of musical overlap between punk, ska and the Balkans. Gorgeous George mine it expertly, with a great deal of energy and panache. Bass, bouzouki and fiddle are prominent, as are declamatory cockney vocals, delivering some extremely funny and intelligent lyrics.
