Julián Orbón (1925-1991) was a Spanish composer. Orbón was born on the 7th August 1925 in Avilés, Spain. He moved to Cuba in 1940, where he lived until 1960, when he moved to Mexico. He later became a lecturer at the University of Washington and the University of Miami, and from 1981 at Princeton University. He was taught by Aaron Copland in 1946, after having been awarded a grant to study at the Tanglewood Music Center.
