Orca Orca began as the solo pop project of Jimmy Hewitt in Allston, MA in September 2011. Recordings consist of not much more than a few guitars and an old drum machine. Live performances are accompanied by a full band: Justin Mantell (bass), Darin Thompson (guitar), Ben Husk (drums). Formerly under the name Young Minds, Hewitt’s melody-driven guitar pop has seen praise from The Fader, Prefix Magazine, and The Boston Phoenix leading to the group sharing stages with Beach Fossils, Tennis, Crystal Stilts, Porcelain Raft, and Yellow Ostritch.
