Nikolai Tokarev was born in Moscow in 1983 into in a musical family. His father is a concert pianist and his mother a cello player. In 1988 he started his musical training at the renowned Gnesin music school in Moscow with A.Traub, V.Tropp, and M. Khokhlov which he completed with distinction in 2001. Between 2004 and 2006 he studied at the Royal Nothern College in Manchester with Dina Parakhina. At the moment he has his postgraduate study in Duesseldorf with Prof.
