Kobiety was created by Grzegorz Nawrocki and Anna Lasocka in Tricity (Gdansk-Sopot-Gdynia), Poland in the spring of 1999. Together with Przemek Momot on percussion and a few guest musicians, Kobiety recorded their first album Kobiety, released by an independent label Biodro Records, in December 2000. During the following two years the group played concerts with Krzysztof Topolski (Arszyn, Ludzie) on percussion and Jacek Lachowicz (Scianka) on keyboards.
