Chris Lightcap (born April 23, 1971) is an American jazz bassist. Since 1998 he has led his own groups and produced three critically acclaimed albums of original music. Lightcap released an album called Lay-Up on the Fresh Sound New Talent label in 2000. It features Gerald Cleaver on drums and Tony Malaby and Bill McHenry on tenor saxophones. In 2003, he released a follow-up CD on the same label called, Bigmouth.
