Jean-Philippe Rykiel taught himself piano as a child. He was BORN BLIND in 1961. Theolonius Monk was a big inspiration but more so the work of PIERRE HENRY with synthesizers. He is a grand master of the synty and electronic music, displaying an intuitive and insightful exposition of all he does. 1992 co-created "Eyes Open" for Youssou N'Dour, finally with the worldwide hit album "Wommat/The Guide" in 1994 they achieved fame.
