Subnormal is a word symbolising the divergence away from the traditional approach to creating music. A band influenced more by progressive and experimental elements, delving deep into the unconscious, rather than the triviality of day to day existence. Heavy metal is a genre to describe Subnormal’s sound if you have a hard time distinguishing between Guy Sebastian and Paul Kelly. Alternative would be better, but far too ambiguous. Subnormal have their own genre; sub-normal.
