At least four acts share the name Hub: 1) Hub formed in Leeds, UK, in 2006, from a shared love of post-rock and intelligent indie rock, with bands such as Mew, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky and Talk Talk particularly influential. From early support slots for Howling Bells, Duels, iLiKETRAINS and Red Sparowes, their sound combined dynamic, guitar-led rock, veering between ambient and propulsive, with clear, strident melodies and wistful but accessible lyrics. Hub split in October 2008.
